This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend Ipsy’s Generation Beauty at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC. This wasn’t my first time attending, but what made this time special was that I was accepted into the IpsyOS platform as a creator.
This means so much to me because I was actually denied when I applied last year. The requirements of membership are very vague, but it’s clear that they want to see consistency, enthusiasm, and unique creations in your content. I feel like I’ve been delivering in those categories over the past few months and they definitely took notice. This was a milestone for me, and I was happy to celebrate while at the event.
I met a lot of fellow creators, and it was so nice to see what goes on behind the scenes in the beauty community. Admittedly, I’m in the beginning stages of beauty content, but I’ve been learning so much over the past few months, and in this short amount of time I’ve been able to personally receive tips from huge beauty gurus such as Tiarra Monet, Gigi Gorgeous, and Christen Domique. So anyway, the event was great! I love these types of events because there are soooo many freebies given out throughout the entire 2-day extravaganza. There are so many vendors there that it’s almost impossible to stop at each booth.
They had interactive tutorials:
Meet & Greets:
YouTuber & Beauty Guru: Patrick Starr
And Business Panels:
Director of Social Content & Artistry At M.A.C: Ashley Rudder
I had the chance to chat with Gigi Gorgeous about her absolute must-have makeup items. It was so loud in there you can barely hear us talking. Here was her list:
I also had a chance to chat with Christen Dominique. She struggles with dark circles around her eyes and she’s pretty much mastered the tricks of full coverage. I asked her what her go-to items are for the best coverage and she said:
Overall I had a great time at Generation Beauty this year. Check out my YouTube video for more BTS action. Please be sure to like, comment, and subscribe! 💕
